Cannes is a picturesque town and is well worth exploring over a few days. Le Suquet hill contains medieval style streets and of course the tower and museum is a must see (even if its just for the views). Just below the tower and ramparts, is a small square that is a relaxing area surrounded by scrubs and trees. There is a grassy park area and playground on the west side of La Croissette and a stroll down to the Port Canto yacht harbor is worth a look, to see the yachts which may be valued at many millions. At the west end of La Croisette, between the Palais des Festivals and the beach, is a shaded grassy park area with a children's playground. Carrousel rides may sometimes be found on the esplanade in front of the Palais. At the east end of La Croisette, just before the new Port Canto yacht harbor, is another park and playground with carnival-type rides suitable for older kids. Beside the playground at the east end of La Croisette is the Jardin Alexandre III, a flower-garden park suitable for strolling or relaxing. There are several swimming pools in the town such as the Cercle des Nageurs de Cannes on avenue Pierre de Coubertin, the Piscine des Oliviers on Bénéfiat avenue and the Piscine Municipale is found on the avenue Pierre de Coubertin. Other leisure options include obtaining a pair of designer sunglasses, the latest swim wear and hanging out on the beaches made famous by Brigitte Bardot - who know perhaps you may be spotted by a film producer for his latest epic... |
