Dining

There are all sorts of eating establishments in Cannes, from American fast food style burger joints to pizza, from coffee shops to Michelin 5-star restaurants. Prices of course vary from establishment to establishment and you can expect some of the more pricy and exclusive eateries to require that a certain dress code be achieved. The fact that Cannes is a sea port means that many restaurants specialize in seafood (it must be said however, that vegetarian options are widely available). Many of these places may be located along the Quai St. Pierre or on the Rue Félix Faure. The Croisette promenade is home to many terrace style restaurants and cafes. Here the attraction is not just the food, it is the possibility to view the strollers, the odd star or two and of course the latest Ferraris and Porches that are associated with the town. One restaurant on the top floor of the Sofitel is considered to have the best view over Cannes, with panoramic views of the sea, the port and the town itself. You can expect huge waiting lists during peak times. Prices tend to be shown on displays outside restaurants and reflect the fact that Cannes is considered a resort town - the food is excellent but not cheap (unless you opt for cafes or burger bars).
